Summary:This paper is targeted on the environmental issue related to the usage of natural resources,more specifically hydric resources. On this debate the water is considered scarce both in quantityand quality, it is also considered the object of conflict within its usage for human activitiespurposes. The paper considers possibilities and limits of the environmental issues, using amarxist analyses. The concepts sociospacial formation and geographic space, defined by MiltonSantos, constitute central categories defined and used in the analyses. According to the conceptof value, the paper analyzes in what manner the conflicts are associated with the increasinglyvalue given to the space provided for the usage of water and the water and space degradation.It was made possible to conclude from the analysis the important matter of observing the waterdynamics altered by human actions and the ways the hydric resources were appropriated. Inthis sense, the water and the geographic space could be explained both how production wayand how human activities product.
