Summary: | Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a highly inheritable neurodevelopmental disorder that causes diverse deficits in social communication and restricted repetitive sensorimotor behaviors. Here, we studied a human-induced pluripotent cell line from an autistic patient with impaired social function and a normal intelligence quotient (IQ > 70). The cell line was validated by its morphology, gene expression, and potential to differentiate into three germ layers. This model can be used to explore the pathophysiological and molecular mechanisms in patients with ASD, compared those of with patients with normal cognitive abilities. |
