| Summary: | The objective of the research. The research deals with the description and classification of the dialogical genres of the modern political discourse of the United States, namely of the White House. The study was carried out using the method of classification and the descriptive method from the discourse positions, taking into account the social actors using these genres: politicians, journalists and the audience. The classification is based on the status of communicants, the number of participants, the venue of the event, the length of communication, the status of information (official or unofficial). As a result, we singled out three classes of genres and their subgenres: 1) a press conference, 2) interview, 3) a town hall meeting. Dialogical genres of the White House are numerous, and each of them is used depending on the status of politician: from the one with whom politician will speak (journalists or the audience); from the number of participants; from the venue and duration of communication; from the status of information (official or unofficial) and other extralinguistic factors, such as internal and external political situations, the popularity or unpopularity of the politician, etc. Classification of the dialogical genres of the White House allows us to see the points of contact of politicians with the press and the audience, and to explore the number and quality of such meetings. Dialogical genres presuppose, in overwhelming majority, a question-answer form of communication, which also makes it possible to identify complex political and social issues. |
