description | Principles relating to periodization of training, separation of training in different cycles through variation in specificity, intensity and volume, can be applied to nutritional and dietary consumption. Nutritional needs vary depending on the training periods: training, competition, off-season and the transition between these periods. Long jumps need speed, power and a wide variety of technical skills to be successful in their events. The objectives of the periodicity training cycle should be consistent with nutrition for these athletes, including reaching the desired body weight and a height-to-weight ratio between body weight and body height and improving muscle strength. A long-distance jumper turns the movement into flight, using powerful legs and elastic take-off. The triple- jump jumper requires a precise approach, producing kinetic energy from an almost near-speed approach. Energy needs vary depending on training, competing, and transition periods. Carbohydrates are the main source of energy. Proteins provide energy, but should be eaten in an amount that responds to amino acid needs for the formation and fluctuation of body proteins, letting fat supply energy. |
