| description | Language mediation is an integral part of daily life in the professional world. Therefore, graduates need to acquire respective skills, if possible, in foreign language classes or courses on transversal skills in higher education. The paper presents the background and concept of two Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) workshops on language mediation as well as results from two qualitative, explorative surveys among students of linguistics and business administration from Germany and Greece after the workshops. The aim is to illustrate how language mediation works online and across disciplines and how this digital setting makes a reflective approach possible as well. Previous experiences mentioned by students in the survey indicate once more the importance of language mediation for internationally oriented academic and professional contexts. |
