Description
Summary:Diaphragmatic-traumatic hernia represents an entity in the child. Frequency reduced, delayed clinical manifestations, nonspecific symptomatology determines multiple diagnostic difficulties, which increases the risk of developing severe complications. The authors present the case of a 4-year-old child with late manifestations of traumatic diaphragmatic hernia. The certainty diagnosis was established at thoracic CT with dynamic contrast in angiographic regime. The child underwent surgical treatment. The authors concluding that the primary repair with the application of nonabsorbable sutures and the concomitant use of the acellular pericardial mold for consolidation is an effective option in the surgical reconstruction of traumatic diaphragmatic defects in children.
