description This article presents the epidemiology, etiopathogenesis and classification of chronic tonsillitis. It consistently discusses the modern methods of treatment, particularly the use of Tonsilotren in drug therapy regimens. The results of multicenter randomized controlled clinical trials, the purpose of which was to identify and evaluate the effectiveness and tolerability of Tonsilotren are being given. It is concluded that Tonsilotren is an efficient, modern tool for pathogenetic treatment of patients with chronic tonsillitis, and it can be recommended in the modern scheme of treatment of chronic tonsillitis.
