Description
Summary:Mucoceles are slowly expanding, chronic, cystic lesions. They are caused by obstruction of the sinus ostea, however etiology is not clear. The majority of the cases occur in the frontal sinus followed by the ethmoid, maxillary and sphenoid sinuses. The clinical appearance of the mucoceles depends on their anatomical sites and pressure to the surrounding structures. Computerized tomography and magnetic resonance imaging are helpful for analysis of the lesion. Surgical management of mucoceles can vary from marsupialization to radical procedures such as complete removal of the mucocele and obliteration of the sinus. We report in this paper the two cases of ethmoid sinus mucocele with orbital involvement and our endoscopic treatment approach.
