S. pallidum that covers rocky southeastern coast (faced to the Ussuri Bay) is less polluted by the metals than the algae from other coasts of the Island. However, the elements concentrations in the algae at Russky Island, in general, mostly exceed their background levels for Sargassum algae in the northwestern Japan Sea. |
