description Homografts are the conduits of choice for reconstruction of the right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT) in the correction of complex forms of congenital heart diseases (CHD). However, the fact that they are difficult of access and that there is no possibilities of choosing a conduit of suitable diameter (small sizes in particular) force many cardiac surgeons to continue searches for an optimal conduit. Small-diameter combined conduits made from porcine xenografts are noted for poor hemodynamic characteristics, prompt biodegeneration, high cost, and difficulties in implantation. The development of methods for correction of complex forms of neonatal CHD make these operations more dependent upon the presence of small-diameter valved conduits in their interposition in fragile tissues. Early results of implantations of small diameter (< 15 mm) freestents tricusps xeno-conduits made from the bovine pericardium and its valve from Glisson's capsule of liver (GCL) for RVOT reconstruction in the correction of complex forms of CHD.
