Description
Summary:Problem: With the increased of the incidence in the number of oncologic diseases, with care needs identified in the literature, it appears essential to specify which health gains of nursing interventions. Objective: Identify which sensitive indicators to nursing care in oncology person, with 45 years or more. Search Strategy: A search was performed in EBSCO (CINAHL, MEDLINE, British Nursing Index), using the method of PI[C] O, retrospectively until 2007, resulting in a total of 257 articles, of which 19 were extracted. Results: The control of signs and symptoms, functional status, monitoring of adverse effects, effective adaptation strategies, self-care, use of health services and mortality were the dimensions found, with an impact on results, which emerge 50 indicators. The mitigation of pain, preservation of functional capacity and developing effective coping mechanisms were the most prominent indicators in the literature. Conclusions: To increase health gains, it is recommended the inclusion of specialist nurses in a multidisciplinary context, during hospitalization and in the community. Nursing interventions to the individual oncological situation have economic value with effect on quality of care and cost-effectiveness, which highlighted the contribution of nurses in the health system.
