description Starting about thirty years ago, under the influence of several authors, sociology has been rethinking its approaches to social reality: concepts, theories, and methods. It seems like such reorientation ends up considering the individual as the locus for understanding social life. In this article, the author poses the question as to reasons for such shift: « Why the individual? » Next, he raises the question regarding the particular ways for placing the individual at the core of sociological thought: « in which ways the individual? » Finally, the author proposes to eliminate the barriers between psychology and sociology through a socio-analytical approach to social behavior.
