Description
Summary:The large variety of concepts and classifications for disc disease (anatomical, pathological, surgical and radiological) are reflected in the, often ambiguous, terminology of degenerative disc disease used on imaging study reports by neuroradiologists and radiologists. The attempts to standardize the nomenclature, made by some medical societies, lack general acceptance. This work reflects the conviction that morphological characterization of disc disease prevails over the anatomopathological due to the limitations of imaging study techniques, including magnetic resonance imaging.
