description Background. Hyperprolactinemia can lead to negative cardiovascular events in patients with coronary heart di­sease and slow down the regeneration of the gastrointestinal tract mucous membrane. The purpose of the study was to determine the possible relationship between prolactin levels and the results of Holter electrocardiography (ECG) monitoring in patients with stable angina and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Materials and methods. The study included 118 patients with angina pectoris of I–II functional class. Of these, 88 patients with stable angina and comorbid GERD (A, B, C) were included in the second group, and 30 patients with isolated stable angina formed the first group. All patients who were included in the study prior to treatment were evaluated for serum prolactin levels and Holter ECG monitoring. Results. In patients with stable angina and GERD, prolactin levels exceed the norm and were higher than that of the group with isolated stable angina (p < 0.05), as well as the number of episodes of painful and painless myocardial ischemia and their duration (p < 0.05). The presence of a comorbidity with GERD provokes an increase in the total duration of ischemic episodes per day in patients with stable angina compared to the results in patients without GERD. Conclusions. A strong direct linear relationship was found between prolactin serum levels and the number of episodes of painful myocardial ischemia per day in patients with stable angina and GERD, and between the total duration of episodes of myocardial ischemia and prolactin le­vels. The presence of comorbid GERD in patients with stable angina provokes an increase in the total duration of ischemic episodes per day in these persons compared to those without GERD. The correlation between the total duration of episodes of myocardial ischemia and prolactin level in the blood serum is high in patients with angina pectoris and comorbid GERD.
