description | <p>Abstract<br />The Type of fertilizer is economical as MET (Sprouts Extract media) and urea Which<br />may be an option in developing a culture of Spirulina sp., Because in addition to the low cost<br />it also has a macronutrient and micronutrient content which supports cell growth of Spirulina<br />sp. The Research is carried out by modifying the growing medium Spirulina sp. to optimize<br />its role and functions, namely the combination of urea concentration and bean sprouts<br />extract media (MET). The Combinations are as follows: P1: MET 2% urea 80 ppm, P2: MET<br />2% urea 100 ppm, P3: MET 2% urea 120 ppm, P4: MET 4% urea 80 ppm, P5: MET 4% urea<br />100 ppm, P6: 4% urea MET 120 ppm, P7: MET 6% urea 80 ppm, P8: MET 6% urea 100<br />ppm, P9: MET 6% urea 120 ppm, and P10: sea water. highest cell density (19.53 x 103<br />sinusoid / ml in media treatment of P1. ANOVA test results (at p> 0.05) showed the influence<br />of MET combination with urea fertilizer to the cell density of Spirulina sp. multiple comparison<br />test results for cell density Spirulina sp. showed a significant difference between the media<br />treatment of sea water by the combination of MET, except between P1 to P10. this is an<br />indication that the concentration of MET combination with urea fertilizer has the potential to<br />be used as an alternative fertilizer in cultured Spirulina sp. To obtain high cell biomass and<br />low fertilizer costs.
