In conditions of modern climate the majority of them are quite winter hardy. For planting at the Karel Isthmus we may recommend first of all such little know in cultivation, dceorative and botanically interesting maples as <em>Acer campestre</em> L., <em>A. pseudoplatanus</em> L., <em>A. pseudosieboldianum</em> (Pax) Kom., <em>A. saccharinum</em> L., <em>A. tegmentosum</em> Maxim., <em>A. trautvetteri </em>Medw., <em>A. ukurunduense </em>Trautv. et C. A. Mey., which may be propagated by local seeds. |
