The purpose of this paper is to present an evaluation of the level of awareness regarding strategic management at SME sector transport service providers, and to propose a solution to motivate managers and staff to enhance this awareness. The process of informed implementation of strategic management in an organisation needs an appropriate tool and – in this paper – performance appraisal has been selected as a tool stimulating strategic management activities. The organisation and application of performance appraisal should be supported by IT systems. |
