| Summary: | Influence of thickness of the thigh, length of carcass and sex on the weight of bovines carcass. A statistical study allowing to appreciate the weight of bovine 's carcass in function of three explanatories variables that are the thickness of the thigh, the height of carcass and the sex has been presented. As the carcasses are coming from 4 different farms, the ordinary least squares method has been applied to data of each farm according the sex but without considering this one as explanatory variable. The conclusion derived is that the thickness of the thigh influences the weight of males and the height of carcass influences the weight of females. In the present study, these three explanatories variables are considered. The distinction of the sex and farm weren 't taken in consideration. The regressions of all farms are grouped in a model called "Seemingly Unrelated Regressions". This model shows that the variables thickness of the thigh, height of carcass and sex explain approximately 70 % of the complete variation of weight of a carcass.
