Description
Summary:In this paper, we introduce the notion of cyclic <inline-formula> <math display="inline"> <semantics> <mrow> <mrow> <mo>(</mo> <mi>&#945;</mi> <mo>,</mo> <mi>&#946;</mi> <mo>)</mo> </mrow> <mo>&#8315;</mo> <msub> <mrow> <mo>(</mo> <mi>&#968;</mi> <mo>,</mo> <mi>&#966;</mi> <mo>)</mo> </mrow> <mi>s</mi> </msub> </mrow> </semantics> </math> </inline-formula>-rational-type contraction in <i>b</i>-metric spaces, and using this contraction, we prove common fixed point theorems. Our work generalizes many existing results in the literature. In order to highlight the usefulness of our results, applications to functional equations are given.
