Description
Summary:As the 5th district of São João da Barra / RJ is lacking in basic sanitation, especially in relation to treated water and its distribution, the alternative found by the majority of the residents was the abstraction of groundwater, which is not always within the standards quality for consumption. The aim of this study was to evaluate the quality of groundwater consumed in school Cazumbá and Sabonete (5th district) and reservoirs in the region, supplied by tanker trucks. Sampling was conducted both in the dry and in rainy season. After completion of the physical-chemical and microbiological analyzes was deployed an environmental education project at the local school.
