| description | Castleman disease (CD), first described in 1954, is a rare lymphoproliferative disorder. A 20-year-old female patient was treated for a "painless mass below the right ear for 1 year". The imagological examination of the patient showed a soft tissue mass about 2.8 cm in diameter in the right parotid gland. Moreover, the patient underwent a right superficial parotidectomy and facial nerve dissection. The mass in the parotid gland was removed, and CD was confirmed by further pathological examination. Imagological examination contributes to the diagnosis and preoperative evaluation of CD. |
