description When designing an entertainment experience, audience engagement in the event is a crucial aspect in its success. One way to increase audience involvement is by giving them a way to control an element of the experience. This can be facilitated through a variety of interactive technologies. While some forms of entertainment, such as theme park attractions, have used many of these technologies over the years, live storytelling events, such as theater productions, have made limited use of technology to facilitate audience interactions. The goal of this project is first to analyze how interactive technologies have been used to affect the stories told in theme park attractions. This will allow us to propose a method to incorporate more types of these technologies into the theater experience, based on the successes found within theme park interactivity.
