Thesis (S.B.)--Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dept. of Physics, 1999. In title on t.p., "[right arrow]" is the symbol and "[pi]" is the lower-case Greek letter. Includes bibliographical references (leaf 50, 1st group). The simulation of the recoil proton stopping acceptance in the near-threshold [gamma]p [right arrow] [pi]⁰p reaction on a CH1.1 scintillator target has been carried out using the new state-of-the-art CERN GEANT4 toolkit. The photo-production cross-section was generated to be uniform in cos OCM and OcM- Incident photons with energy uniformly distributed in the range of 150MeV to 250MeV were used. The simulation focused on the effects of the size of the incident photon beam. In additions, the hardening efficiency of the bremsstrahlung photon beam using beryllium absorber was studied. by Minh Thanh Thái.
