Summary: | This is largely a cleaned up version of a solution found sometime ago when two other related problems were of interest. The one is the special situation when the density can have only two values, which has been solved for special cases by J. Kloustad. The other is the problem of shape determination from silhouettes, that is when the density is infinite in a simple region.
Work reported herein was conducted at the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, a Massachusetts Institute of Technology research program supported in part by the Advanced Research Projects Agency of the Department of Defense and monitored by the Office of Naval Research under Contract Number N00014-70-A-0362-0003.
