Thesis (M.Eng. and S.B.)--Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dept. of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, 1998. Includes bibliographical references. This thesis describes the Java implementation and future extensions of a sales recommendation generator. The engine consists of truck knowledge databases, expert engines, an Internet GUI and is extended with user specific "consultative selling" behavior. The later half of the thesis describes possible extensions for future research.
