Summary:A method of calculating the pressure drop in inclined and vertical oil-gas wells is proposed. The data used to establish the method is from a variety of sources but is largely from air and water flowing in systems close to one atmosphere in pressure and in pipes from 1 to 2 inches in diameter. All inclinations from vertical to almost horizontal are included. The method proposed is used to calculate the pressure distribution in ten oil and gas wells. The predictions for the overall pressure drop are good to +/- 10% for these wells.
