Screen refresh is handled by display controller that provides a bit mapped representation of the display in RAM. A 8085 based single board computer is programmed to allow user defined graphics symbols to be moved about easily, and a character generator is included to facilitate the display of ASCII strings. The computer uses a RS-232 interface to receive commands. A demonstration program is also included which demonstrates a simple instrument landing system (ILS) type display without the need for an external device. 2012-01-06T22:09:34Z 2012-01-06T22:09:34Z 1984 Technical Report 13195226 http://hdl.handle.net/1721.1/68088 FTL report (Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
