Summary: | This research aims to look at the occurrence of traffic accidents in relation to mobile phone usage while driving and determine the effectiveness of the current Singapore traffic regulation penalty. The first study is done by taking into consideration the attitude of drivers towards traffic safety code and their risk perception, both of which are based on past research, as well as awareness of current traffic regulation penalty. In the second study, the effectiveness of traffic regulation penalty is determined by analyzing aversion towards it and comparing the level of awareness of the drivers against their attitude towards traffic safety code and risk perception in relation to mobile phone usage while driving.
