Summary:This paper presented the 4 key parties; namely: ship owner, shipbuilder, ship broker and maritime financier, using the generic model of the shipbuilding process as the framework. The objective of the paper is to analyze the inter-relations among these parties and the bi-lateral influence of their action and the market are analyzed within this paper taking into the account the roles and considerations of the respective parties. A research has also been conducted on the bulk carrier industry in this paper, as well as a projection on freight rate is conducted based on the factual information collected at the point of this paper.
