Summary: | Dilatometry study, as a prelude to the actual sintering study, was conducted using a Netzsch DIL-402C dilatometer. The shrinkages of the specimens under different temperature, heating rate and sintering time were analyzed. The higher the heating rate, the larger is the shrinkage. The largest shrinkage was as high as 17.62% using a heating rate of 20 K/min, sintering temperature of 1350°C and a sintering time of 60 min. The values of the sintering factors for the actual sintering study were established from the dilatometry study. |
