description To date, not much studies and emphasis were being made to help Singaporeans understand how waste plastics were being treated, and how waste plastics can be put into better use. Recycling rates for waste plastics has not been high and it has thus contributed to being the highest percentage of waste disposed in Singapore. Thus, the aim of this project is to study on how waste plastics were treated in Singapore and how it can help Singaporeans put these waste plastics into something useful. In this study, we will look at a few key areas, namely: the waste management systems adopted by Singapore, the differences on how government and private companies treats waste plastics, the current trend of waste plastics in the market and, the current and future technologies which Singapore can explore to implement. The findings of this study can help Singaporeans to better understand why plastic recycling rates are so low, how waste plastics can be put to other usages, and the trends of recycling plastics in the market. Last but not least, the findings can also help Singapore to have a better perception of which are the more desirable methods available in the market to treat waste plastics as well as knowing and coming up with innovative ways to reduce the amount of waste plastics being disposed.
