Thus, after sorting and analyzing the characteristic of four such couples from All Men Are Brothers, Investiture of the Gods, and Three Legends of the Tang Dynasty, this article names it as the phenomenon of " Dwarf Generals and Their Pretty Wives ". Subsequently, the shaping of these characters were systematically explored in the sequence of appearance, battlefield, and family to understand the cultural and aesthetic values, and losses behind the shaping of these characters. In addition, the study of these female generals’ transformation shows the reason for the decline of the “Dwarf Generals and Their Pretty Wives” phenomenon. Furthermore, the dwarf generals were put into the context of Chinese "non-sex" tradition to analyze the ambivalence of the authors and readers towards the phenomenon of " Dwarf Generals and Their Pretty Wives ". |
