Description
Summary:Recent developments in blockchain technology has led to the emergence of a new approach of application development – Decentralised Application (DApp). In this approach, a decentralised infrastructure is made possible where front-end clients will be connected to decentralised blockchain network. Benefits of such approach includes a more secured application that is highly tolerant to faults. This project aims to explore the potential of blockchain technology and demonstrate the possibility of creating a peer-to-peer learning environment using blockchain. A decentralised blockchain-based Question and Answering System (QAS) will be designed to run above a locally run private blockchain network. The QAS is then implemented to study the feasibility of supporting functions supported by traditional centralised approach and its performance. Evaluation of the system performance found traditional centralised approach to outperform the decentralised approach in terms of latency and throughput. However, findings from user evaluation conducted indicated a positive sentiment towards the use of blockchain technology.
