description Exploring my own sex and sexuality opened my eyes to Singapore’s neglect in nurturing healthy mindsets and approaches to eroticism. Despite arid conditions of conservative societal subjugation, the young adults of Singapore display progressive tenacity through rising trends of pre- marital sex and an avid interest in kinks. Attitudes are evolving, but logistics are lacking with regards to space. Spaces designed for intimacy provide non-judgmental environments to explore and experiment with sexuality. Furthermore, these spaces could provide individual adults the means to translate their kinks and desires into fulfilling and meaningful sexual interactions. Thus, my desire to highlight the constructive effects of such intimate spaces manifests in Elsewhere. Elsewhere is a fictional love hotel concept, a creative project that envisions how spaces designed for sex would look like. Through spatial visualisation of imaginative creative sexual interiors, I hope to reflect the need for designed intimate spaces and advocate for kink exploration. In addition, by presenting accompanying posters of erotic narratives, I wish to normalise the topic of sex and promote sexual frankness, while providing some insight into the presently foreign landscape of Singaporean adults’ carnal desires.
