description In this project, a portable ultrasound measurement system is designed to measure the dimensions of an object without getting close to it compared to the usual measurement instruments such as ruler, tape measure, etc. In order to achieve this, the system must be integrated with an ultrasonic sensor, laser-pointing device and a microcontroller. Besides these three main components, a Raspberry Pi will be used to assist the user with step-by-step instructions, using an image-processing algorithm. Furthermore, this algorithm will display the measured readings with an image of the object to conclude the results. This report will discuss the development of an ultrasound measurement system, experimental setup, and results of different samples as well as future improvements.
