description In Singapore, it is not uncommon for both parents to be working and require someone dependable to provide before or after school care services for their child, especially those in primary school. Yet, what seems to be the best solution are student care centers around the neighborhood. However, these centers may decline the child’s enrolment due to limited capacity. Hence, the alternative approaches parents may seek are the assistance from grandparents, helpers or recommended nannies from forums or word of mouth. These options while viable present certain challenges relating to lack of dependability, discipline, knowledge, capacity, proper certification and qualification. This project aims to offer a solution that could address the needs above through the creation of a trustworthy and dependable home based student care service program certified by local social organizations. This platform will be a one stop home based student planning service that could allow parents to engage with qualified and certified individuals to care for their children. To support the proposal, UI design on mobile application and website will be employed for parents to search for a reliable home based care teacher through location, draft up a schedule based on their expectations and children’s needs and engage in activities that nurtures the child’s main areas of development. This idea is built upon the concept of convenience and how services in this generation are just a phone away.
