description As many people are spending more time doing indoor activities now, indoor air quality (IAQ) becomes extremely critical to ensure better physical and cognitive well-being. The project aimed to make use of filters to reduce the concentration of the Particulate Matters (PMs) and Total Volatile Organic Compounds (TVOCs) in an enclosed environment and make use of the condition achieved by the filters to investigate the effect of IAQ conditions on human’s cognitive abilities. This Final Year Project (FYP) report discusses on how the IAQ condition affects one’s cognitive ability through a series of cognitive activities. Besides that, it provides information on both PMs and TVOCs, type of equipment used to sample IAQ condition and the filters that were used in the chamber experiment. The report demonstrates on how the chamber experiment is being conducted. Details of bioaerosol sample collection during the chamber experiment are also stated in the report. The report provides information on the attempt of deriving quantitative method for Serious Play Lego (SPL) and Unusual Uses Task. Along with a panel of members, grading was conducted for the following cognitive activities, SPL and Unusual Uses Task. Moreover, using a set of R code, the result for Typing Test is collected. Lastly, the report is concluded with the analysis of the results obtained and discussion is done in establishing the relationship between IAQ condition and one’s cognitive ability.
