description | Over the past decades, Singapore has been developing rapidly and now ranked one of the top financial centres in the world. Presently, there are five locally incorporated full banks in Singapore and owned by three Singapore banking groups, namely DBS, OCBC, UOB. At the same time, foreign banks are gradually established in Singapore and try to put themselves in a better position in the financial hub for global completion. As the challenges and competencies are rising among banking financial services industry, most commercial banks in Singapore are extending their networks across the city by establish new bank branches islandwide. When a foreign commercial bank is considering launching a new branch in Singapore, well planned branch location will not only improve their brand reputation but also enhance their economical profit growth. An inefficient branch location will lead to business development blocking and resource wasting. I Bank Singapore branch is its first overseas branch outside mainland China and it was established in year 1993. Along the years of tremendous business development, I Bank Singapore branch became one of the most successful commercial banks in Singapore, offering a full range of financial products and services from retail banking, private banking, corporate banking to institutional banking. This study will target in branch location optimization and provide valuable suggestion for I BANK Singapore future new branch location proposal. A few scientific methods are applied through our study such as business district theory, location theory, market demand theory and expert scoring method. |
