description Nowadays with the increasing demand of energy, the world’s power sector is facing a big challenge due to environment issues, large loads, low energy efficiency, limitation on power delivery capability and high-power demand. Due to the exhaustible energy on the earth, the equilibrium of generation, green energy resource exploration and demand of electric power has been developing eagerly. Singapore has a large amount of solar and wind resource for energy development. Despite abundant energy, external environment factor like weather condition that will cause solar and wind fluctuations. The input intermittent supply will directly affect the output power quality and also affect the quality of the grid to make the system produce unnecessary noise and energy loss. The Island Microgrid system formed by the PV system, wind turbine driven DFIG, and Battery energy storage system can handle this issue. This project aims to develop the control system for islanded microgrid which can effectively use solar and wind power as well as charge and discharge by battery storage system. The developed controller can provide microsystem with a stable AC voltage, manage the power flow through closed loop feedback circuit. The overall microgrid system along with controller will be simulated under the PLECS simulation environment and tested in a hardware-in-the-loop platform. During the simulation we will test the system under on and off load condition to make sure it is effective and stabilized.
