However, most of these reports focus on the efforts by welfare organizations or individuals associated with this community rather than on the intellectually disabled as people. This project aims to give an insight into the lives of the intellectually disabled which do not just consist of welfare and abuse and promote public understanding of this unique yet diverse characteristics of this community. The features in this series focus on four aspects public perception towards the intellectually disabled, possibilities in education, issues in employment and the importance of professional therapy.
