Therefore, this paper takes 阿拉伯地理典籍中的中国（China in the Eyes of Arabic Geographic Works）as an example to look at China from an Arabic perspective, so as to explore translation strategies of culture-loaded words in the context of Arabic culture. In this paper, culture-loaded words in selected materials are divided into three categories: idioms, classical Chinese, and others. By giving a thorough analysis of each culture-loaded word, this paper introduces several ways, under the guidance of cultural vacancy theory, to translate culture-loaded words under such background, including literal translation, free translation, domestication, and foreignization. Hope these methods could help to translate Chinese culture-loaded words in such a background. |
