Ever since, there have been various studies carried out upon the field of WPT as the technology has improved over the time. In the 21st century, researchers are looking to design WPT that offers a safe and convenient way to provide battery charging to various applications such as consumer electronics and electric vehicles. A simple WPT system would consist of a pair of magnetically coupled coils which allows the transmitter coil and receiver coil to transfer power in a contactless way. When it comes to designing a good WPT system, there will be various factors that come into play, i.e. system cost, efficiency and power density. In this project, focus will mainly be on the coil design aspect of a WPT system
