This study is to assist in the development of walkway by analysing their safety. A literature review shows a strong positive correlation between the comfort level and the safety level of the walkway. Through the use of Structural Equation Modelling (SEM), the results showed three factors: condition of walkway, clear direction on walkway and differential speed between active mobility modes, which has a correlation with the comfort level of the walkway. The study is concluded with suggestion for further studies as the unprecedented COVID-19 introduced several limitations to the study.
