description | A rolling composition addresses the intimidation of interacting with a sound making instrument through the interface of a toy.
There is a barrier to approaching a musical or sound making instrument as they often come with a structured notation system and an appropriate way of playing it. The pinball machines use the act of play to persuade participants into working with the instrument, creating an ensemble of unknowing musicians contributing to a soundscape of incidental sounds.
This project aims to use the interface of play to allow users to embrace the process of sound creation regardless of their musical background. |
