With the combination of the technologies, building robots that are able to be safely implemented in to a very dynamic environment are possible. They are assist human employee to carry out simple and high repeatability job, have the capability to detect obstacles (living or non-living things) and able calculate their own route. In this project, the aim is to design a service robot for assistance in restaurants. To design such service robot, first have to understand the area of needs and challenges a restaurant generally have. Shortage of labour to deliver excellent service has been a great challenge to the restaurants industry and has affect the efficiency and service quality. This project targets to build a robot that is able to increase the output of the waiters and waitress by sharing their workload of having go to the kitchen and serve the dishes at the patrons’ tables. This project will resulted in better restaurant service quality, happier customer, less labour intense for employee. |
