The two important components of these stories – the content of the story and creation of the characters are being analyzed in this article. A comparison between Yao Wu Zhi and the ancient literatures which it quoted from is made to give perspective of the author’s objectives in adding elements that modified and mrecreated these stories. On top of that, Zhang Manjuan uses the voice of opposite gender in the story narration. This article finds out the aim of using this writing strategy in Yao Wu Zhi.
