Summary:As we try to make healthier life choices with our diet, we are putting ourselves vulnerable to such forms of scams — food marketing scams. During our trips to the supermarket, it isn’t hard to find these so called ‘food claims’ like ‘low fat’, ‘natural’ and ‘fat-free’ slathered all over food packaging. However, are these food claims created to allow us to make better food decisions or are they tools used by food manufacturers to influence our purchases? Though my project, I hope to use parody to showcase how we might be all victims of such false marketing, or I call it “catphising”.
