These doubts are explicated through arguments citing the difference in the nature of the mind and body, questions on how they causally interact, and what is the virtue in which they are paired. This paper tackles the pairing problem by looking at it in the perspective of the development of each substance over time. I will borrow Kant’s distinction of analytic and synthetic knowledge to explain that metaphysical inquiry of the basis of pairing the mind and body lies outside of our knowledge. |
