description The goal of this final year project is to investigate the boost rectifier with power factor. A quadratic boost converter with high DC (Direct Current) voltage gain is used for this purpose. Two controllers are implemented for the regulation of the boost converter. The controllers are non-adaptive sliding mode controller and the adaptive sliding mode controller. An experimental setup is built, and experimental results are provided. It will illustrate the effectiveness of the controllers in achieving low THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) and a high PF (Power Factor).
