Summary:The purpose of this project was to design and create some novel applications using cEVA as the 2W-SMP mainly in the areas of actuation where 60°C was the operational temperature for the 2W-SMP to actuate. Proper characterization of the cEVA 2W-SMP was required prior to developing the usage and concepts for applying it. Applications covered in this report were mostly 2W-SMP based biased reversible twisting actuators utilizing ‘smart window’ technology[1]. The last section would cover in detail about bending biased actuator of the 2W-SMP.
